New People Leaning Towards Digital Scrapbooking Every Day
Do you remember this project? Well, my friend ( a non digi scrapper) was over and was helping me reorganize my workspace and she saw this box on my shelf. She didn’t tell me at the time, but later, that she actually had to touch it to realize that it was flat. The tags on the top look so realistic in person that you’d swear they are actually layered pieces. The same is true for the grosgrain ribbon with the plums - it’s all digital! But they are so realistic. My point to her eventually was - on line or on screen it is impossible to tell the difference between a scan of a paper layout and a digi layout! The shadows, the textures, the depth and dimension - it’s all there. It truly is the wave of the future. Scrapbooking is an incredibly worthwhile endeavor, and Kudos to those who take the time to create a record of personal history. Technology, however, is changing, and offering everyone more - including scrapbookers. I don’t see this as a “us versus them” situation. I love paper! I see this as evolution, and just finding an easier, less expensive way to get my photos scrapped and into an album!
So I created the methodology for ScrapNow Layouts, and it is working so well for me that I know I will never digi scrap another way. Here’s a ScrapNow Layout that I made from this month’s free digital kit.
Now I’ve saved this in the program I used to create it, and when I’m ready to create a layout - I’ll just put my photos in the frames, and title it (where it now reads: ScrapNow Layout). I could even run my title along the ribbon, and leave that huge area underneath for a lot of journaling - depending on the photos I used and the story that needs to be told. Then I can just reuse this layout for other photos, or alter the layout slightly and create a whole mini album of coordinating pages. Too much fun, and way too many options! But that’s a good thing!
