Making and Changing a Layout

Plum Cozy by Doris Castle is one of my personal favorites.  I just really like vintage style.  So using this kit, lets create the same layout 3 times over.  I’m only changing out the main papers - not the embellishments.

In the first one, the red paper is on the bottom, and this creates a bold frame for the page.

In this second version, you’ll see the difference using a different background will make:

Even though you see more of the red, the overall effect is softened by the green paper in the back.  And in this third version:

the dominant red color pulls the eye to the block where the photo (green paper) will be.  In fact, if you journal in cream colored lettering on the red (at the bottom of the layout) it will accent your text and make it blend in seamlessly.
