Would you like to see one of my favorite tricks

Maybe you already do this and it’s old news to you. But I love to run my clipart, digital kits (paper and embellishments) and colored fonts through my photo enhancing program and hit “quick fix” - or “autofix” in Photoshop Elements. Now sometimes it makes the image look awful, sometimes it doesn’t really change it at all, in which case, I don’t save the changes. BUT, and this is most often, it will enhance or change the graphic so much that it is worth saving as a changed copy. I NEVER DELETE OR REPLACE THE ORIGINAL. Most of the time, I’ve paid for the original, and I respect the artists rendering of their art. It is true, however, that it is impossible to accurately portray color on any computer screen or over the web, so enhancing the kits/clipart that I download is almost a necessary step to using it.

Please understand, I am not talking about violating any Terms of Use policies. All of the images saved are a part of the original TOUs from the original agreement - I cannot sell it, or call it my own creation. But we “alter” it everytime we add it to a project, I’m just optimizing the coloring and saving it.

Why is this a cool technique?? Watch - you get two sets of everything.

Both styles and colorings are valuable. I can think of hundreds of reasons why I would rather use the original for one thing or another, but I love having the alternate version to use as well.
